by throwing water on the contestants. He was later convicted of the charge.

He has worked at an assisted-living facility for the last 15 years, but the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration pulled his license in February because of that conviction. They discovered it while doing background checks of nursing home employees.

Fetcho has retained legal counsel, and can petition for an exemption for his past misconduct to have his license reinstated.

"Fetcho has been a valuable addition to our company," his now-former boss, Lucie Eichler, told the South Florida Gay News. "He is so well-liked that he still maintains relationships with the families of residents who have since passed."

If Fetcho can get his license back, he already has a new job waiting for him at a senior activity center. Kelley Madigan said, "I was Fetcho's supervisor at the Villas for six years. He is dedicated and pleasant, dependable and compassionate. I am prepared to employ him the moment he clears this hurdle."

Court orders missing mom arrested

Rutland, Vt.—A family court judge finally issued an arrest warrant for Lisa Miller, who absconded with her daughter rather than follow court orders and turn custody over to her former partner, Janet Jenkins.

After running off to Virginia because she thought less gay-friendly courts there would allow her to void her custody agreement, Miller finally disappeared after being ordered to turn their daughter over to Jenkins on January 1.

Courts in Virginia had ruled that the Vermont custody agreement was binding, even though the state did not recognize the women's relationship.

Miller claims she is no longer lesbian.

Ft. Worth charges bar raid victims

Fort Worth, Texas-City prosecutors are pressing charges against two customers who were injured in the raid of the Rainbow Lounge last year.

The June 28 raid occurred 40 yearsalmost to the minute-after the one on New York's Stonewall Inn that sparked the national gay civil rights movement. It led to

the suspension of three Forth Worth police officers and the termination of three Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission agents.

Chad Gibson was hospitalized for a week with a severe brain injury. He says officers slammed him into a wall in the bar, while the police say he fell while handcuffed, hitting his head. He's being charged with public intoxication.

George Armstrong is also charged with public intoxication. He suffered bruising and muscle strain during the arrest.

"The city's message has been, 'Let's learn from this and move forward and get past it,' "" said Adam Seidel, the attorney for Armstrong and Gibson, in an interview with the Seattle Gay News. "That doesn't seem to be consistent with prosecuting these two victims."

The two men will not accept a plea bargain, and have asked for a trial date. Seidel said he was surprised prosecutors did not drop the charges.

The officers and agents were accused of using excessive force and anti-gay slurs during the raid.

Atlanta suspends officers in bar raid Atlanta-City Council is issuing subto 18 police officers to force them to poenas answer Citizen Review Board questions about a raid on a gay bar last September.

Around 60 patrons of the Atlanta Eagle were searched and detained on September 10. Some were forced to lie face-down on the floor, their hands cuffed behind them, while police ran their driver's licenses.

Patrons also claim that police officers, including some from the Red Dog anti-drug unit, used anti-gay slurs.

The Red Dog unit is used in cases of extreme danger, like gang-related drug activity.

The raid was in response to allegations of drug activity and public sexual activity at the club, neither of which were found during the raid.

The Citizen Review Board, in investigating allegations of anti-gay slurs and actions, tried to get police officers to explain what happened, but were unsuccessful.

If the officers ignore the subpoenas, which were unanimously approved by council committee, they could face $1,000 fines or six-month jail sentences.

to be done by the end of March," said Nash. "I was promised it would be looked at and revised this year some time. That tells me December 31."

Nash was involved with group of community leaders that advised council on the original ordinance. He said the group has not reconvened.

Nash said he is satisfied with last fall's ordinance.

"It's better than no protection at all," he said.

"I have known many transgender people who have had to go off-premises to use the restroom. It's not okay, but at least they still have a job," Nash said.

Nash said he expects to be involved in the process of passing a new ordinance and would like to see one introduced "by May at the latest."
